Jenni is a Clinical Research Fellow, jointly funded by the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Research Centre and the Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology. Jenni joined the centre in August 2015 following completion of a Masters in Research and her Core Medical Training in Leicester. Her intercalated degree was from Glasgow University (2008) and medical degree was from the University of Dundee (2010), completing Foundation Training in the West of Scotland.
She is currently undertaking a PhD exploring transitions from hospital to care homes and the role of cognitive impairment. Her PhD is using mixed methods including systematic review, linked data analysis and qualitative interviewing to better understand this important issue for individuals and wider society. Thus far she has successfully received funding from the Scottish Government for her national data linkage project and is part of a linked qualitative study ‘One Chance to Get it Right’ (PI: Gemma Logan) looking at discharge decision-making in hospital, funded by the Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation (£25,000).
Jenni is based on the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh site, within the Department of Geriatric Medicine (Room S1642) and can be contacted via email (jenni.harrison@ed.ac.uk) or via her project website (www.h2chresearch.org.uk).
