Otto studied Biomedical Science at Robert Gorden University and a Master's in Global Health Science and Epidemiology at the University of Oxford prior to starting his PhD at the University of Edinburgh with the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Research Centre. His project looks at the effect of air pollution on the risk of dementia and the possible underlying mechanism using population cohort studies.
